Back and forth pulls
the water roaming
gently on the sand
A movement soft as the
Touch of your lover’s hand
 
 
Cradle in your reminiscent arms
Amongst the smell of sea
Sun sets to rest for sleep
Eyes watch shut, to breathe

 

Back and forth , conducting
The beat of life
North to South, reminiscent
Of a past once present
Vociferous story teller
Listen hard, confronting waves
Novel tales feel familiar
 

 

Distinguished Steps lost
in the forgiving sand.
Eternal mark of the
Invisible,
Building the new, propelling
Forward from the beginning
Breathing, eating, laughing
Working, loving, crying

 

All that starts does not end,
It continues.
Rock back and forth, lullaby
The recurring beat, of life
toes sting in tearful water
Fresh. Corner of a smile
Old feet repeat footsteps
From a young past
 

 

Back and forth surge
Of sea, eyes wander towards
The misty horizon
Fingers intertwine in memory
Whispering wind

 

Back and Forth runs the water
Over the sand, the same as once
And will always ever be.
