Hello you! How lovely that you are reading this. Let me introduce myself. My name is Jenny Amalia (although some people call me JP, Jen, Jenpen, La Jenny, and J-dog.
Me in a (small) nutshell: I am a mix of Norwegian, Mexican and American. My mother is American/Norwegian (Queens/Tvedestrand) and my father is Mexican. I grew up in Norway, spent a year in Costa Rica working for the Ministry of Health when I graduated from high school, studied Law at Durham University (in the U.K), worked for Newsweek, lived in New York for a long summer, moved to Mexico City where I worked as a PA for Gabriela Camara (the owner of Grupo Contramar & now my sister-in-law), moved to LA with my now fiancée, worked as a producer, development associate of an IMAX film and …. now…. I write.
I have always written actively and am interested in too many things for my own good so this blog will consist of prose and poetry about a plethora of things that I observe, discover and learn.
Think of it as a creative space to learn, explore and share.
Professionally I write for various publications including the LA Times, Our Man on The Ground, Differences Magazine and the #Latism Blog. If you want something written get in touch.
